Our Cause
Lead by Dr. Carson Pue. Since 1991, the Arrow Leadership Program has been actively engaged in "leader' development - helping leaders to grow from the inside out through more than just teaching skills. They take thier name from Isaiah 49:2 where it reads, "he (God) shall make me as a polished arrow". So they are the leader polishing business. They know how to spot 'giftedness' and how to individualize the development process for each man or woman.

World Vision International
We partner with World Vision because they seek to enable the world's children to realize their God-given potential by tackling the root of the causes of poverty. World Vision International is a Christian relief and development organization working for the well being of all people, especially children. Through emergency relief, education, health care, economic development and promotion of justice, World Vision helps communities help themselves.
World Vision makes gift-giving easy this year. Start a new family tradition… this year, give HOPE!
World Vision’s Christmas Gift Catalogue works just like any other mail-order catalogue, only the gift goes to a child, family, or community living in poverty.
Simply select the gifts you want to buy online, place your order, and wait for World Vision to send you a card for the person you are honouring. World Vision has put together an interactive slideshow to teach you more about how the catalogue works.
10 reasons why you should consider buying your Christmas gifts this year through World Vision’s Christmas Gift Catalogue…
- There’s something for everyone on your list. Help a struggling family start a business as a gift to your business partner. Is Dad a fisherman? Buy a family a fishing kit, or help a community start a fish farm. Is your best friend a teacher? Stock a classroom with school supplies and textbooks. With 58 gifts to choose from, you are sure to find something for everyone. Upon request, World Vision will send you a card to give to the person you are honouring.
- Multiple benefits. Many of the gifts are selected to help families meet pressing needs and earn household income. For example, sheep can provide milk and meat for family nutrition. Sheep manure is used to fertilize crops. Wool can be sold or used to make clothes. And ewes often have twins or triplets which are sold for
family income.
- Even more benefits. Items that you choose are purchased locally. This ensures the products (for example, fruit trees) are well-suited to the local environment. Buying locally also supports the local economy and keeps transportation costs to a minimum.
- The gift that keeps on giving. World Vision Canada's costs for animals include training in husbandry and pen construction, pen material, vaccinations, and occasionally food for the family so the animal can survive long enough to reproduce. Much of the distribution is done through revolving loan systems where the family receives the item and repays in kind – for example, an offspring of the animal. This helps to ensure individual commitments and spreads the benefits throughout the community. In addition, families are given nutritional training so they can get the most benefit from these animals.
- Gifts for people in need. World Vision works with community leaders to develop a fair system for distributing gifts. Families are chosen on the basis of need.
- No shopping malls. No parking worries. No lineups. No grumpy people. Instead you can order online or by phone.
- No wrapping required. This year, you won’t need to stay up until 2:00am wrapping the rest of your presents. And in the morning, you won’t have to worry about your garbage can overflowing with wrapping paper, ribbons, and those annoying styrofoam popcorn bits.
- Okay for the last minute. It’s 5:30pm on Christmas Eve. Sorry, but all the malls are closed. Under normal circumstances, World Vision would send you one gift card per item that you may write in and send to the people you are honouring. However, you may also send an eCard, or print off a PDF certificate to insert into your own card if you place your order online.
- Experience the true meaning of Christmas. We’re all raised (hopefully) to believe that giving is better than receiving. Why not act that out with your family this year? Display God’s love and your love to the world.
- It can still be fun. I come from a big family. Normally, we all draw names around Thanksgiving a set a limit between $20 and $50. This year we’re doing something different. When we arrive at Mom and Dad’s, we will be putting our own chosen amount into a box (we are all in different life phases right now, and this anonymity really takes the pressure off). We will then count up the money and go through the World Vision Gift Catalogue together to select what we’d like to buy as a family. No pressure. No mess. No problem!
